MusicLearning.info is designed for to help music students, teachers, and parents by providing them with useful music resources.  Most of these resources have been designed with a focus on Stephanie Gauthier's music students at St-Timothy's Classical Academy, as well as, her piano and voice students at Campbell Douglas Keyboard's but may be useful to any music student, teacher or parent.

New Article: Early Christian Music

The Oldest Christian Hymn:

The Oxyrhynchus Hymn (P. Oxy. XV 1786) is the earliest known manuscript of a Christian hymn - dating from the 3rd century AD - to contain both lyrics and musical notation. It is now kept at the Papyrology Rooms of the Sackler Library, Oxford. The text, in Greek, poetically invokes silence so that the Holy Trinity may be praised....

Choirs in Ottawa

Ottawa Children's Choir

Offer's an instructional music program emphasizing musicianship and vocal training through choral music experience.

 

Three ensembles:

•    The Viva Choir, where choristers start their training at a beginner level;
•    The Concert Choir, an intermediate group;
•    The Chamber Choir, singing an advanced repertoire.
Children have the opportunity to experience their own progress as they master music with greater vocal facility and deeper musical understanding.
Choristers perform regularly within the National Capital Region, studying and singing the finest repertoire available, with an emphasis on Canadian compositions.
